This 6-class track is very good for GCP and general cloud architecture knowledge: https://www.coursera.org/professional-certificates/gcp-cloud-architect. If you don’t want to do all of it, Courses 1, 4, 5, and 6 cover everything you need. Courses 2 and 3 are a deeper dive into core components, and 7 is preparing for the cert exam.

FYI the GCP Cloud Architect exam is getting updated starting May 1st. The Coursera track I mentioned is good for the current, soon to be old exam version (but the general cloud architecture knowledge is still good). Coursera will likely update their content to match the new exam, but don’t know when.

I did a coursera course a year ago, the content is made by people who work at GCP.
I went back to it recently but realised it had changed a lot, you need to use it or lose it.

Thank you for your insights. If I may ask, did you take some online course like coursera's "Preparing for google cloud certification: Cloud architect professional certificate" prior to the Professional Cloud Architect exam?

Are you talking about this one? https://www.coursera.org/professional-certificates/gcp-cloud-architect

There are so many GCP courses on Coursera. What is the official one?

Would recommend these training courses. Since this is through work, hopefully they would cover the cost of the courses.

Hi!

So I studied from September 2020 to January 2021 with Coursera thru Npower so I didn't pay a dime. Are you from Canada or US? and 18 to 30? you could apply with the program for free, just one catch you have to write an article after which is a challenge haha (https://npowercanada.ca/google-associate-cloud-engineer-program/)

  1. So this is the Coursera program: https://www.coursera.org/professional-certificates/gcp-cloud-architect . The good thing with this program is the labs are free as well so you get a feel of Google Cloud UI.
  2. After I studied a book by Dan Sullivan https://www.amazon.ca/Official-Google-Certified-Associate-Engineer-ebook/dp/B07Q8BXDST just for the questions
  3. Listened to GCP podcast in Spotify to get a real-life example: https://open.spotify.com/show/36qjuTreaI4bIjd3R9CDXe
  4. Bought Udemy's Sarat Gutha but sadly it was taken down (I checked just today), it's such a great help.
  5. And my instructor also gave a guide on topics and to read the best practices (all can be found on the google documentation, e.g. https://cloud.google.com/solutions/best-practices-for-operating-containers )
