Thank you for this link, lots of very valuable information there. Now just a quick question. On the website Coursera there is a tesol course which I can complete online and gain a certificate at the end if I pay for the course. I am debating taking this as it seems like I will learn a fair amount and can do it on my own time. As TEFL and TESOL would it be more beneficial for me to take the TESOL which I will link below? The cost for courses on this site are reasonable and my wife uses it lots to audit courses as she just love to learn new things.

Thats the link to the course you can find more information about it here. For the time there its so flexible. They give u deadlines to post your work for peer review but u can take your time although they give you enough time to finish your work. Its truly a wonderful course and i highly recommend it.

CourseRA currently has a TESOL certificate program through the University of Arizona that is completely online (you will have to make videos for submission). There is financial aid available as well.

Apply for financial aid and you could potentially earn this certification for free: https://www.coursera.org/professional-certificates/arizona-state-university-tesol

It's pretty legit since it's an American university collaborating with Coursera.

Hey. You should go to the main certificate page. If you request from there, all of them will be unlocked. I assume yours is this one.

>I believe ASU offers one as well.

This was my first thought. There are quite a few 'Real Universities' that offer TESOL. ASU offers one through Coursera HERE which is completely online. They also offer one on campus HERE which I don't think has an online compoentnet. Haven't looked into heavily though.

Note: I also work for VIPKid / Cambly / GoGoKid.
I got my TESOL certificate through the International Open Academy and it was widely accepted - I received higher base rates with the children's companies for having this certificate along with my previous experience.

Here's a link to the 120 Hour TESOL Course I started with it's only $19:

You can also find a TESOL program on Coursera offered through the Arizona State University. I haven't completed this program, but it looks very thorough.

You can try getting an online TESOL certificate from Coursera and get a teaching job basically anywhere. I live in Japan and I know a lot of native english speakers get a job as an english teacher in local schools -- no japanese ability necessary.

~~Otherwise you can try~~ ~~Work and Holiday~~ ~~visa in Australia~~. Good luck!

Edit: I forgot that the Work and Holiday visa is only for people aged 18 to 30 so OP can't join in.

Add: if you REALLY want to get out of the country, get a proper degree and qualifications OR be an international student. Or marry someone? Even if you do marry, the process is going to be long and painful.

MORE ADD: ASSUMING that you have an American passport it means you won't need a visa to go to Australia (or most countries) you can try house sitting! You won't get paid but you'll be able to 'house sit' for people (basically free accommodation) house sitting australia and house sitting worldwide
