Yes, and I've learned to enjoy the difficulty of it. There's pleasure in the process. If I can start early enough on it, I'll hyperfocus for a few minutes (25-35 minutes), take a walk / stretch break, come back to it and hyperfocus, repeat until it's done. :)

These courses may help:

Writing for Business - It's less about writing for business, and more about writing succinctly.

Learning How to Learn - Discusses the neuroscience of learning and goes through some techniques to make the extremely difficult things more interesting and fun to do / learn.

I also work in consulting, and I actually just enrolled in this business writing course from Coursera. It actually starts today so I haven’t completed it yet, but I’ve taken other classes through Coursera and enjoyed them.

That course is part of a larger program called Effective Communication: Writing, Design, and Presentation Specialization which includes another course specifically related to presentations that you might also be interested in.

I email for a living, pretty much, and I supervise some junior staff in the same space. Here are a few things I’ve assigned to help them with professional emails:

  • This Coursera course (free if you finish within a certain timeframe)
  • The Grammarly plug-in, which will point out errors and suggest corrections fo’ free
  • Practice and feedback. Is there somebody in your life you can look to to honestly critique your practice emails? It’ll help so much, I promise. And don’t forget to proofread.

All that said—I think it’s great that you want to be a better writer, and I also think you won’t embarrass yourself either way. I’ve worked with a lot of professional adults who can’t write for shit.
