Guitar for Beginners

Not sure if it is common knowledge, but I wanted to let everyone know that coursera.org offers online music courses FREE

I get an email from these guys every now and then telling me what courses are available and there are a number of ones that are pretty cool. I've personally only ever done the songwriting course but it was extremely valuable to me.

There are a number of other music related courses including an intro to guitar, jazz improvising, an intro to production stuff. I would browse through it, it's a great resource and best of all it's FREE. Maybe you'll find something helpful!

Saw a course for new Guitar players listed on Coursera and figured this would be the place to post it.

If you have a desire to pick up the guitar but don't know where to start or want an introduction with basic lessons but don't want to pay for it, then this class is for you!

Take a look at the link for all the details but all that is required is an Acoustic or an Electric guitar and a means to record with your computer (mic and a program like Audacity).
