There's no such thing as SAS programming. It's called PROCgramming ;)
Okay jokes aside, what are your career goals? As others have pointed out, SAS is on the way out, but that does not mean that it will be obsolete. In certain industries change comes very slowly. Do you know that COBOL is still used, and oldtimers are making pretty good money with it? (NOT recommending COBOL).
If your goal is data science, then no you don't need SAS; however, if your goal is to be a BI/data analyst then you may want to pick up a working knowledge of it. Check job listings for your target companies (or ones close enough to what you want to do) and see what they're looking for.
As another poster mentioned, it would be beneficial to learn SQL.
Work on getting your R, Python, and SQL skills to be the best that they can be.

This course looks like it covers the basics: https://www.coursera.org/learn/data-visualization/lecture/qMoBp/sas-lesson-1-defining-exploratory-data-analysis
If you really want to learn SAS, see if your university library has some books. This way you won't pay an exorbitant amount of money on learning materials. If not in your library, most university libraries are willing to loan books to another university.
