Received an email from an UIUC graduate advisor with the following information:

UIUC MOOCs for Entrance Exam:

MCS Entrance Exam clarification:

  • A new application is not required if submitting an eligible grade for the entrance exam for the application submitted for Fall 2019. The application is valid for up to one year. For example: Eligible grades for the entrance exam can be submitted for admission to Fall 2020 using the Fall 2019 application.

  • Admission is guaranteed if a grade of B+ or higher is submitted for the entrance exam, for those who have been offered this pathway after their application has been reviewed. Admission is subject to meeting all other requirements, including English language proficiency if applicable.

just wait for it to go on sale --- it should be around $15 in a week or so -- they go on sale all the time
