Social media writing course

Hi Everyone,

I will be working very closely with my company's social media very soon, and therefore, would like to dive a little deeper into writing social media contents that creates a good impact. I thought it would be a good idea to do a course in the matter. I have searched through Coursera, EdEx and Udemy to find an ideal one. The only one that caught my attention, or delivers anything closer to what I want to learn is this: https://www.coursera.org/learn/business-writing

This does not specify any social media course or contents, but I figured this creates a good foundation? Anyone have any idea or thought about this (or any other such course)?

Thanks!

I don't have a lot of advice. I think Coursera, EdX, Udemy all have free courses like this https://www.coursera.org/learn/business-writing that you could skim through.

I guess my main points for emails would be:

  1. Be explicit. For example if the data the report is based on has issues or if there is some problem you've discovered make that clear up front. If you have options for a solution supply those as well.
  2. If you are communicating to both a technical and a business audience, include an executive summary of the business issues at the beginning.
  3. Be concise. Everyone is busy so they will gloss over your email for the information that is important to them. Don't use long sentences unless you have to.

With all that said, you should be fine. There's no need to perfect every email before you send it as long as the people receiving it can read it.
